State Gallery

Founded in 1843, this art museum combines its Neoclassical origins with a 1980s Post-Modern extension by James Stirling. The museum features 20th-century art by Matisse, Picasso, Dalí, and others, alongside Renaissance and Baroque works by Rubens, Rembrandt, and Memling, including Carracci’s *Corpse of Christ* and Ratgeb’s *Herrenberger Altar*.

Mercedes-Benz Museum

At the Mercedes-Benz Museum, housed in a curved metallic building with a double helix design, visitors can explore the history of automobiles and Mercedes-Benz’s diverse vehicle lineup. The double helix layout allows for two parallel audio-guided tours, which converge at the present day, showcasing the brand’s 21st-century innovations. The museum features over 160 vehicles and 1,500 exhibits.

Wilhelma Zoological-Botanical Garden

Wilhelma, a zoo and botanical garden in Stuttgart, was originally a royal pleasure park with a Moorish Revival bathhouse. Opened to the public in 1880, it now houses over 1,000 species, with notable exhibits like great apes and the Amazon House. The botanical garden features Europe’s largest magnolia grove and a vast collection of orchids, camellias, and azaleas.
